2 i spend that little while with sowing the are a good many of our own countrey boys & girls in this town now and they all came to see me this is a verry hot summer but still the are heavy Showers of rain here as well as at home, now i think this is a helthy state the stoutest and fleshest peapol i ever saw is in this town my Dear friend Mr doran has the prettys family in this town mary is one of [the] prettys girl you could see i am invited to the fair the 18 of aught the are rasing a good crop in this countrey this year Mr Doran was a good friend of mine when he came home he dressed me nice and he maid me a presant of all the expences Mr and miss mc Faddon i often think of home and of my dear perants [page 3] and of my brother and Sister and i t[h]ought long the first month i came here if my perants would see me now the would not know me i got lawful fleshey since i came to this countrey, now Mr and Miss Mc Fadden please [tell] me how are yous getting along or how is little Johney along i suppose he is a big boy now i suppose he will soon be fit to go a fishing i am going to wr[i]te him a letter before [long?] i will send a small presant, Dear catrene i have some of your rememberns in my trunk yet and it shall remain their please tell me how is ellen or is she with you always i remember the plesant [times] we spend together please let me know is all boys and girls of kilcar
