Ottumwa lowa July 19, 1884
My dear friend Mr Faddon. i take my
pen in hand to write yous these few lines
to let yous know that i am well and in good
health thank god hopping these few lines
will find yous in the same state of health
my dear michel Mc faddon and Miss Mc
faddon yous must excuse me for not writting
to yous sooner but i might not till as long
again i have good health thank god and i
like this countrey verey well i have good
times with my cousains and they like me very well
mrs doran has his stock pretty nere sold Dear mr
and miss this countrey is not as good as it was they
are not aloud to sell no more liqour in the
state of lowa they are aloud to make it but cannot
sell it this countrey is not as different as i thought
it was they are good and nice people in this town
my dear friend i and mary was took to the
three Shows and we had a nice time. i had

Four letters from brother John since i came here he is
coming to see me in August, i have a very stormey
passage
I advise every girl to not come out in the month
of
March
to this countrey i was thinking of home on
patrick day the hatches was closed for five days and we
thought we were all going to drop i was still thinking of the plesent
winter i had at home with yous and i am more then glad that
