My dear Brother-in-law and sister I mean to inform you and let you
know that myself and mother felt very bad when we heard about cousin
Jack (? - name fifficult to read) O'Mahony's death and all his cousins
both men and women and a lso about Thomas Sheehan's death. We were sur-
prised and we thought he would live for fifty years to come and also about
William Higgins death and as his daughter being married tto Denny Mack
and her being joined in the family. I am very proud of it. You will let
me know how is John Molihane (?) and Daniel Creedon in your next letter
or how are the(y) pulling out in Barrick. And also you will let me
know how is Patrick Mahony and family - are the(y) in good health?

LETTER 2.
From CATHERINE CREEDON, mother of the writer of the first letter, to her
daughter Mrs. Catherine Sheehan probably resident at Burnfort Mallow.
I have no way of knowing whether the writer Catherine Creedon
actually married the wealthy American mentioned in letter I. She does
not sign her name at the end of the letter which contains a good deal
of information about her sons and d aughters in America.

My dear daughter and husband,
I am going to take my pen in hand to write t hese few lines to you
hoping to find yourselve and husband in good health and the two sons
Thomas a nd Patrick in good health as the departing of these few lines
laves myself and my son John and wife and family in good health - thanks be
to God for his kind mercy towards us all.
My dear daughter, I mean to inform you and let you know that I
would have written to you lomg before this but I waswaiting t hinking that
you would write and find out how your mother was in health a nd to find out
wheather she was dead or living. But thanks be to God, I am in good health
