success This is about all the
Dear John I got a letter from
news that would interest you
Hugh Williamson a few days ago
with Kind regards to all I remain
Enclosing one from Peebles with the request that
yours truly Jim Williamson
I forward it to you, all well here at present
& busy sowing alfalfa & wheat, we had

a fair crop of Beans Early & Spuds
last season we have not sold the beans
yet the Girls are in the City /Inez?/ & her
Baby are well, Ethel still taking music
lessons & L/ude?/ working in some Clothing
house, The Watsonville Transportation Co
have a wharf built about 3/4 of a mile
above Camp Goodale & have the Cars
runing on the Electric road to town
They will begin to haul freight as soon
as they Co can get a Steamer to run
to the City Judd sold his part of the
lettle place in town to the Transportation

Co & they have erected a power house &
a big warehouse nere the beach road
Hugh has been working in Idaho this
last Summer & his family are living in
Buckeye Bob Bain died last april
he was sick but a short time before
he died, Hugh will be home shortly
as he said in his letter he would
leav/e/ about the 12 inst. Judd &
family are all well Henry Judd
who used to work for Bill is back
together with his wife his brother Art
& uncle Ruben, Judd was in fresno
last week on some fruit business

Description
According to the donor, Mrs. Reynolds, James Williamson "came across the Plains to California in 1850." Tuft, his nephew, immigrated to California in 1875. Letter gives accounts of James Williamson's ranch, the spread of electric trolley transportation in Watsonville, and family news.
