to the widow & devise means to recall his banished ones. I had intended
to write to Sister Jane a letter before I was taken down in Mch. last,
but I was confined before I done so, & now writing is, to say the least
a
severe job to me. I must close & be brief- My kind

when I tell you that I write proped half way up in bed & scarcely enough
light admitted to enable me to trace the lines Our relatives here
pretty much as usual. Sister Eliza complains a good deal of ill health
but kepps about. . She sustained the loss of a valuable female servant
some weeks ago. She was a member of the Methodist church, but I trust
she is now with the church above, many die around me on the right hand
& on the left & I a poor broken reed am yet left. How necessary for me
to watch & be also ready, give my respects to Br John & also all my
Aunts Uncles & Cousins & if I have forgot any name ascribe it to my
head which is very weak, Your affectionate Brother
